Day Care has been busy over the last few months with
activities ranging from the weekly Knit and Natter group to
music therapy and outings for lunch. We’ve also had visits
from Age UK and themed lunches to celebrate Burns Night
and Valentine’s Day.
Animation station
Our Day Care guests have been working with Cultural
Spring and artist Sheryl Jenkins on some animations during
their visits. Sheryl said,
“I’m enjoying working with staff and
Day Care visitors at St. Clare’s Hospice. I work with a lot of
different ages and abilities and it’s always exciting to see what
ideas people bring to a project. St. Clare’s sessions have been
very entertaining! Most of the participants haven’t worked with
animation before and I enjoy seeing everyone having a laugh and
sharing their artwork with one another.”
Pat Ogilvie, Day Care Activities coordinator said,
“It’s been
great to do something we wouldn’t normally. We didn’t know
what to expect but working with Sheryl has been so interesting
and we’ve used things we’ve already made like our folded books
and models to animate. On behalf of all the guests and volunteers
we’d like to say a big thank you to Sheryl for all her hard work.”
Thank you to all the guests and staff who have been working
hard on the animations. To see some of their creations
please visit YouTube and search for St. Clare’s Hospice.
Our Day Care guests take part in lots of activities when they visit with us including; computer classes,
arts and crafts, exercise classes, educational visits and entertainment shows. Here we bring you a
roundup of some of the activities they have been doing since our last newsletter.
