St. Claires Hospice - Spring & Summer 2017 - page 15

Supporting St. Clare’s at work
Over the past few months we have continued developing links with our local business community and have forged several
new corporate adoptions.
St. Clare’s has been chosen as Charity of the Year by TSB Sunderland Telephony, Barclays Bank, Jarrow and Sainsbury’s,
Simonside.
Harlow Printing is the latest company to become a Corporate Adopter of the Hospice and we have also been given support
by our Community Champions at Co-op Funeralcare who have held fundraising events in aid of the Hospice.
“We are delighted that we have been able to fundraise and donate almost £2,000 for St Clare’s over the
past 12 months. The charity is close to our hearts and we are proud to support our local Hospice,”
said Dawn Noble-Battersby, Care Centre Manager
at Co-op Funeralcare.
We were also delighted to be the first charity to be represented at the
hugely popular Viking Stalls Market which launched in October 2016.
The event raised over £700 which was donated to patient care. With the
appointment of our new Fundraiser, Caroline Breheny, we are beginning to
establish more relationships with organisations in the Borough whilst also
enhancing the relationships we have with our existing business supporters.
Caroline said:
“It’s an exciting time to work for the Hospice andwith our 30th
anniversary this year we are hoping to make our fundraising efforts bigger
and better than ever. Particularly we would like to build further on our links
with businesses in the area to ensure that we maximise our relationships to
highlight the work of the charity and its supporters.”
