How does the event raise money?
The Part of your Heart Walk aims to raise funds for St. Clare’s Hospice. We ask that all walkers, aim to raise £100 each
through fundraising, sponsorship or a donation, in memory of your loved one.
You will receive an information pack when you register and our fundraising team are on hand to provide additional
materials and help you with ideas.
By raising money and supporting this event in aid of St. Clare’s Hospice, you will be among other walkers who will all be
participating not only to raise money for St. Clare’s but also walking to remember and honour someone special.
Your £15 registration fee covers the cost of putting on the walk, and your goodies and refreshments. This means the
money you raise in sponsorship goes to the direct benefit of patient care.
Part of your Heart – a remembrance walk
Since our Midnight Walk was cancelled last year we’ve received lots of enquiries
from supporters who missed it! We wanted to bring back a sponsored walk that
included everyone, as previously the Midnight Walk was a ladies only event.
We’re delighted to announce that we are organising our first Part of your Heart
Walk to take place March 25th 2016 from South Shields to Seaburn. The
Part of your Heart Walk is a 6 mile in memory walk, where participants carry a
wooden heart bearing the name of their loved one along the route. The walk will
be a lovely coastal route, beginning at dusk, taking in the beautiful cliff tops, Marsden
and passing Souter Lighthouse before ending in Seaburn at the Marriot Hotel. At the
end of the walk all of the hearts will be deposited in a frame for all to see, creating a display
of hearts to reflect upon.
The walk is a chance for our supporters to come together and celebrate the life of a loved one, offering a chance
to reflect about those who can no longer be with us, sharing a part of your heart.
Places at the walk cost £15 per person and registration will be open shortly.
Who can take part?
The event is aimed at anyone aged 12 and over,
why not make a team with your family, friends
or work colleagues.
Participants under the age of 16 must be
accompanied by an adult at all times during the
walk.
No pets are allowed along the route with the
exception of service animals.
Areas of the walk may not be suitable for
wheelchairs, please contact the Fundraising

What will happen at the event:
The event will begin with music and warm up before everyone
sets off on the route carrying their hearts.
Every participant will receive a race number, a memory card for
you to write and proudly display the name of the person(s) you
are participating in memory of and a wooden heart.
Once you reach the end of the route at the Marriot Hotel, we
will deposit all of the hearts from the walk into our frame, which
will be on display for all to see and reflect upon.
Refreshments will be available after the event and each walker
will receive a goody bag for participating.
