Light up a life this Christmas…
At St Clare’s Hospice, we understand that the loss of someone special
can be the hardest and loneliest of experiences.
Our Tree of lights remembrance service on Sunday 11th December 2016
offers a moment to reflect and remember friends and family who are no
longer with us and many people find attending our service of great comfort.
Everyone is welcome, regardless of whether your loss was recent, some
time ago, or if the person being remembered was cared for by St Clare’s
or elsewhere.
If you attend our service or make a donation you will be sent a special star
to write a message on in memory of someone dear to you.
We hope to make the event as special as possible for those who attend
and you are invited to attend the service by surname of your dedication,
as follows:
4:30pm Surnames A-M 6:00pm Surnames N-Z
Following the service, which includes carols and readings, we illuminate
our Tree, so that each light shines brightly as a symbol of a life cherished
and remembered. The Tree remains illuminated until the New Year and
acts as a shining memorial to thousands of people who are dearly loved
and missed and is a chance for you to pause and reflect on your own
treasured memories.
The name of your loved one will be recorded in our Tree of Lights
programme which is given to all who attend either service. The name
of your loved one will also be entered into our Book of Remembrance
alongside the names and memories of others, and will be available to view
at the service and at the hospice chapel throughout December. You are
welcome to view the book at anytime.
